Deceleration in Spanish House Price Rises

According to figures published by the government the slight deceleration of house price rises over the last quarter means the house price rises have dropped to below 10% for the first time since 2001. House prices in Spain, which have seen an overall increase of 140% over the last seven years have now seen eleven quarters of deceleration.

The average rise in house prices over the last 12 months is 9.8% whereas the average increase in Catalonia has been 11.8%, behind the top three regions of Cantabria, Aragón and La Rioja, who had rises of 15.2%, 14.3% and 13.9% respectively.
